Some clothing is made from natural fibers, like cotton, silk, and wool, but the industry relies more and more on synthetic, plastic-based options such as polyester, nylon, and spandex fora lot of garments, including workout gear, sweatshirts, dresses, and underwear. These synthetic materials are a generally inexpensive alternative, making them ideal for the high-volume demands of fast fashion.
